Jinx thinks about Isha, the small girl lying on a rickety bed with cool cloths to soothe her irritation. Maybe Isha wouldn't want to see her on the front lines, but she's asleep and caught in the throes of her burns. She won't wake up, and if Jinx is lucky, when the battle is over, she'll take Isha and they'll rebuild a home far from prying eyes but close to Sevika, just in case.
As she reflects on the impending final battle, Ekko approaches her, and she notices the marks of ownership scattered across his body. And if that isn't enough, he has a baby tied to his chest.
She laughs, thinking of clear skies and beetle battles; she has a reason to fight and win.
