Summary
Wolfwood stiffened when Vash tipped his head against his neck, as if affectionate, and sighed, "Did it hurt?" His temple felt too hot against Wolfwood's neck.
"Huh? Did what hurt?" Wolfwood questioned, wary of the oddly... warm and gooey look on Vash's face in his dark, surface-shine reflection.
Directly peeking over at Wolfwood's bare, unshielded eyes, Vash returned, "When you fell from heaven?"
At first, Wolfwood froze, mostly in confusion. The flush on his face flared hot enough to quickly melt that into irritation. How was Vash able to do that? Perfectly mimic the look in a man's eyes Wolfwood had seen dozens of times, right before they would ask him to sleep with them?

“I’ll be right back, Wolfwood…”
He shambles towards the door. It’s a pathetic display, and he certainly isn’t moving with his usual speed or grace, but Wolfwood’s stomach still lurches. His body moves without his input, something he generally tries to avoid, but before his mind’s caught up he’s latching onto Vash’s wrist and hauling him backwards, squeezing tighter than is probably advisable considering the wealth of bruises that cover his arms.
Vash doesn’t look pained, though, as he turns back to Wolfwood. At least not in that way. “What—”
“Don’t,” Wolfwood’s voice comes out a raspy whisper, it’s pathetic, he was supposed to be above things like this, attachments, anything that falls outside the parameters of his mission, and this—Vash—certainly does—but his lower lip is already starting to tremble. His eyes smart. He chokes out “Don’t leave me again” and watches Vash’s face soften all at once, the way it does when someone usually starts to cry in front of him.

It was a near miss, nearer than Wolfwood usually prefers to get in a lot of ways.

Stereotypical Vash ‘23 Model S (for Sturdy) has been having thoughts about suffering and dying lately. The changes to him leave cause for concern for the whole of Plantopia. He reluctantly ventures out from the home paradise of Plant Dolls to locate the human who has been playing with him and putting these un-doll-like ideas in his head. His twin companion doll Nai hitches a ride with him as they journey to the real world of Gunsmoke.
They’re in for a harsh wakeup call…and they’re not the first dolls to have made the trip to find the truth.

Summary
A century and half ago, Vash Saverem crashed Project SEEDS into an uninhabited planet in an effort to gain control over the human race. His twin brother Nai has been dragged kicking and screaming into saving humanity when he'd really rather just leave them alone. But while the two of them have fought to a standstill on No Man's Land, things are about to become a lot more complicated with the imminent arrival of Earth's military.
Nai and his allies race to warn the Earth fleet of the danger posed by his brother, while Vash has plans to use the Earth ships to take power on No Man's Land, once and for all.

His forehead was hot against Vash’s soft red leather jacket. “Vash, don’t… stop putting the whole world before yourself.” As if he could ever be as selfish as Nicholas was.
He lifted his head slowly and stepped further away, “I haven’t even known you that long. What do I care?” He laughed and it had no humour in it. “Why do I care, huh?”
