Summary
Nie Huaisang wasn’t what many perceived him as. To the outsider’s eyes, he was a lazy boy. He was someone who was useless, wouldn’t practice his cultivation, and slow in the head. To other’s, he wasn’t fit to be his brother’s heir. He was known for being vain over his appearance, and rumors spread about him possibly cutting his sleeve in private.
In reality, Nie Huaisang was dangerous. With a mind sharper than most, he was the one behind the Nie Sect’s battle plans during the Sunshot Campaign. Nie Huaisang was the one who handled his brother’s paperwork when Nie Mingjue was too impatient to deal with the niceties involved in politics. Not to mention, he was also a child of the dark. A vampire.

Jiang Cheng did not know what he expected when he went to a bar with Nie Huaisang, Wen Ning and Wen Qing.
He certainly did not expect to get tipsy enough to confess his undying love to his best friend's older brother.
And he most definitely did not expect to wake up naked the following morning with Nie Mingjue sleeping beside him.
So, he does the only logical thing. Leaves while Nie Mingjue is still asleep and decides to avoid him.
This is proven to be more difficult than he thought considering the fact that Nie Mingjue was not letting him go now.

Once the young girl fixed the red belt around the breastplate, she joined her hair in a tight bun, not leaving a single strand fall on her face.
Before she left, Wen Qing placed the golden jewel that always held her hair next to her sleeping brother, replacing the scroll given by the emperor’s envoy. She looked at him one last time, placing a hand on his forehead.
