We’ve all heard of the rule of three’s, right?
Edward Elric. Alphonse Elric. Sariah Elric.
Edward lost his left leg and his right arm. Alphonse lost his body. Sariah lost the ability to hear the world around her.
The three alchemical prodigies failed in resurrecting their dead mother, and they paid a hefty price in exchange for their transgressions. The Elric Trio must search for a way to get their bodies back to normal with as few casualties on the way as possible.
Sariah—Sarah Elric was only three years old when Trisha Elric passed away, leaving her and her two older brothers, Edward and Alphonse, orphaned and utterly alone. She was left in Pinako’s care after her brothers left in 1911. Now almost thirteen, she flees to East City to find them once again.
Against her brother's wishes, she's charmed by a young foreign prince on a mission for immortality.

Just existing in the world means bearing the weight of the change, even when one is too young to understand it."
"Everything is changing so fast," Trisha murmured, wrapping her other arm around her belly and doing her best to curl around it, as if she could be some sort of living shield for the tiny life inside. "When I was little, hardly anyone had automail, and now even animals and babies can have automail. Everything is changing and I don't know how to figure out what's the right choice when it's changing so fast and I don't know how to protect him!"

(Basically what could’ve happened if Winry and the Elric brothers were way way way closer and were basically siblings from a young age. This is a one shot right now, might change it? I wrote this awhile ago, so I haven’t thought about it much. But maybe it’ll inspire some writers! And maybe posting it will give me some motivation to write more. Who knows?

On the topic of souls, people spoke very little openly. Even most physicians were under the impression that, so long as a daemon showed no outward signs of distress, there was no need to consider them in patient care. Of course, everyone knew that daemons had no need for food, or rest, or any real grooming. And that, though they might mimic the behavior of whatever animal form they took, that was all it was. Mimicry. Daemons were physical manifestations of, as far as anyone could tell, a very metaphysical concept, and most people decided to leave it at that. After all, for one excuse or another, it was rude to discuss souls with others. It was personal, private.
Regarding the nature of souls, their relationships to humans, with particular attention paid to the matter of form.
