Summary
It had taken time, but he too had slowly adjusted to his new state, figuring things out through trial and error. He had even learned to value some aspects of his new life, like his ability to ignore the laws of physical world. He had also learned a lot by reading over Link’s shoulder as he dove into research about mirror portals and dark worlds. Yet he had never fully made peace with his inability to interact with the one person who mattered most. The inability to touch or be heard, or even the simple act of having Link look at him rather than through him was a curse of the cruelest kind, perhaps a punishment from the Goddesses for the wickedness he’d wrought upon their land.
It certainly felt like it now, as he watched Link bleeding out beneath him.

Wild always noticed.
He noticed Time's subtle interest in more feminine things.
He noticed when Legend would get extra moody, or when Legend would subtly remove his binder before he fell asleep so nobody noticed.
He noticed when Hyrule would longingly look at pretty things, but would admittedly deny it when he was caught. Or how they seemed to enjoy they/them pronouns just as much as he/him.
He noticed how Might would always flinch whenever someone referred to them as 'he', only ever seeming to feel comfortable when someone referred to them as 'they'.
He noticed how Four would sometimes be lost in thought as he looked at his body, as if he was confused why he didn't fully feel comfortable in it.
He noticed because that had been him. He noticed because he understood what it was like to feel afraid of being misgendered or afraid of coming out because he was worried he'd be seen as different. But Wild made it his mission to help his new comrades come out and no longer be misgendered!
OR
Wild helps the genderqueers and crossdressers of the Chain come out with all his transgender and crossdresser icon glory shortly after they begin the quest.

When it comes to heroes saving the world and holding courage against all odds, this universe has plenty across the ages. But what happens when a danger is created that goes across time?? Thus creating a darkness that can not be defeated by one.
Well, you make all of the heroes work together of course! Forcefully bringing them all together across the timelines whether they like it or not. Of course there are many ways to do this, so many ways to build a chain with 11 separate heroes across different era’s and timelines.
This is one of them, taking place over the time of a month this chain is slowly built, but not piece by piece. No, this chain was built with multiple pieces being put together at different times until all pieces have been put in place.

“No! WILD!”
Twilight’s gaze snapped to Wild, just in time to see him being overcome by the Yiga soldiers. He was tackled, his head held securely in a headlock by a blademaster while other footsoldiers grabbed his arms. Twilight flung himself towards Wild, arm outstretched and reaching out to grasp Wild’s hand - Wild met Twilight’s eyes with a terrified look, doing his best to reach up with his restrained hands to meet Twilight’s searching fingers.
He was teleported away in a puff of red paper and smoke, Twilight a second too late.
Wild was gone.

“This,” Shadow pulled out the mirror, waving it around for emphasis a foot from Vio’s face. “Doesn’t work. I got about a hundred feet from those Goddess-forsaken ruins when I started feeling like shit, but when I tried to go back in the mirror--” Shadow waved his hands more, sharp teeth bared. “Nothing! I’m stuck here!”
“That shouldn’t be the case--” Vio began, the pain in his skull lessening enough to let him think. And as soon as he did, the pieces snapped into place, creating a grim picture of his error clear in his mind. “Oh, shit.”
“What? What is it?” Shadow scrambled forward, latching slightly sharp fingers onto Vio’s shoulders. “What did you do to me?”
“It’s actually ‘what did I do to us’, I’m afraid."---
Vio manages to bring Shadow back to the light world, but a small mistake leads to a terrible fate for more than just the two of them... or, an opportunity to strengthen the ties that bind.

What Sidon meant was a long, winding trail filled with monster camps, and suspiciously rickety bridges, all the while going dangerously downhill.
By midday, the Chain looked like they’d been traveling for a week.
Wind had stripped down to a tank and was dragging his boots behind him like a kid who lost a bet. Warriors had stopped grooming his hair. Legend was breathing like he'd been cursed again. Even Time, the unshakable rock, had paused twice to rest—and that never happened"

There had always been different Links, Zeldas, and Ganon(dorf)s, but there had only been one Beedle. He had existed since the very first Hero, and still was living to greet the newest Hero.
Well, ‘living’ wasn’t the proper term.

Now, the problem with being a ghost was that the passage of time didn’t apply to Beedle. Yes, he understood that Hyrule changed and adapted, but he couldn’t tell you what day or year it was. Sometimes, sadly, he didn’t know when the current Hero died and a new one arose until he was selling them items.Beedle knew he had a problem with time, but he also trusted his memories. But, apparently, as he looked at the Hero from Skyloft, the Hero he gave items to ages ago, the Hero who fell through the Cloud Barrier, the only Hero Beedle served while alive, the first King of Hyrule, he started to doubt himself.

Beedle glanced behind where the man came from and saw another Hero he recognised, the Hero from the Great Sea. He was talking with a brunet man wearing green beside the cooking pot at the stable.“I—no, not really,” the king said to the man before turning his attention back to the Beedle. “It’s just that… you are Beedle right? From Beedle’s Airshop?”
Beedle blinked away from the Hero from the Great Sea to look back at the king. “Your Majesty, how are you here?! And how do you look so young?! When I last saw you, you were aged! And from my count, all the Hylian from then should be dead now!”
“Your Majesty?” the man echoed. “Do you think Sky is a king?”
“Why, yes he is!” Beedle said with a sharp nod of his head. “Although, I don’t know why you call him Sky: he’s King Link of Hyrule! Why I remember his and Queen Zelda’s coronation, I made such a revenue then. Beedle’s Landshop was such a hit!”
The king looked at the man. “I’m not a king, Time.”
“I believe you, Sky,” the man said. “I fear we have a time dilemma on our hands. How do you know Sky, Beedle?”
“I sold him items,” Beedle said, “as I do with everyone I meet!”
The king nodded. “Yes—on Skyloft, eons before Wild’s time. How are you here?”
“How are you here, Your Majesty?” Beedle asked. “You should be dead! I remember your funeral—”
“Please don’t talk about Sky’s future,” the man said, “we don’t want to disrupt the future.”
“Huh?”
The king spoke up, “Beedle, how’d you get here?”
“I walked from the other stable?”
“No, here in this time.”
“Oh.” Beedle paused for a second. “The current of time continues to flow…?”

“You’re still here to sell items to people?” the king asked.“Yup!”
“Huh.”
Beedle assured him, “But don’t worry! I was alive when I sold items to you, Your Majesty!”
“I’m not a king!”
“Yet.”
The king sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“How are you here, Your Majesty?” Beedle asked him. “You should be dead.”Looking up, quickly glancing at the man who had an amused expression on his face, the king said, “Portals.”
“Well,” Beedle said, “that makes no sense but, if you buy from me then I won’t care! I will trade you for beetles! I love them! SO MUCH!” He coughed. “Anyway! How can I help you?”
The man clapped the king on his shoulder. “Don’t blow all your rupees in one place, Sky.”
Quickly, Beedle interjected, “I would love that!”

The last thing Link remembered: he went to bed an ordinary 6-year-old in his family home in Castle Town.
He woke up a 6-year-old in a world 112 years older than him, where the Calamity had already hit and then recently been defeated... by himself? He didn't know what happened, or how, or why. Luckily, he had eight heroes with weird nicknames on his side, there to help him figure out and fix whatever was going on, one age at a time—and gradually heal his childhood wounds in the process.
Or: my take on the kid!Wild and Wild-meets-the-Chain tropes, with a bit of a twist in that he is mentally a child as well—memories included.

Summary
For the first time in a long time, the portals drop the chain in a land that none of them recognize. The sky is swirling with shades of purple and blue, the grass is a pale periwinkle, and the birds in the trees are bubblegum pink with three blinking eyes.
Or at least, none of them recognize the land until Legend recovers from the portal, looks around, and curses loudly.
A slightly misplaced portal brings the chain to Lorule. In the process of returning to Hyrule, the other heroes learn far more about Legend than they were expecting to.

Legend called out to him in warning, already moving towards the man, but it was too late. The shadow had already drawn his sword out from the shadows and attacked.
The air seemed to freeze as Legend watched in slow motion as the sword pierced through War's stomach, the Captain collapsed falling onto the ground below clutching at his abdomen.
