When Steve opens his eyes, Eddie is already looking at him. It’s hard to see in the evening light. Everything is dusk and smoke. All of Eddie has been softened by it. His smile lines, the faint bags under his eyes, his hair. It’s all… quiet.
“Hold out for another year,” Eddie says.
“Hmm?” Steve feels like he’s sliding out of clarity. The world is so smooth now. God, he’s high. He laughs. “What’re you talking about?”
“Don’t go to college. Hold out for one more year, Harrington. Then we’re hitting the goddamn road. Me and you.”
Steve waits for Eddie to laugh, to take it back. “You’re serious.”
“Deadly. So?” Eddie offers him the joint.

After breaking up with his long-time partner, Steve Harrington moves in with his best friend, Robin. While he's thrilled to be there, he needs to get back on his feet. Robin has been working at a catalog-- modeling to put herself through college. She gets him a job, hoping he can do this until he gets his ducks in a row. While initially hesitant, Steve is surprised to find that he's good at this-- like really good at it. There's just one catch... he can't fucking stand the photographer. The guy is a total asshole. He's standoffish and rude, and definitely doesn't like Steve much either. Too bad Robin seems to like him and keeps inviting him out with them.

Steve presses all over the strip and tells Tommy, “Once you’re certain it’s good and attached to the wax, you,” he rips the paper away from his skin, “rip!”
Tommy follows the instructions and tears the paper from Steve’s shin. Steve inhales sharply at the pleasure-pain as the wax separates from his skin. Maybe it’s because it was someone else or maybe it’s because it was Tommy, but it felt different—better—than when he did it himself.
The sting lingers for a moment and then fades to a tingle that leaves Steve’s skin pink and warm. Tommy leans down and kisses the pinkened skin. His tongue sneaks out and he gives it a kitten lick. Steve laughs at the sensation and at Tommy’s antics. Tommy flushes as he gets caught acting on an impulse.
