15 years of baggage she locked away and ignored because that’s what was expected of her. 15 years of feeling like she wasn’t worth anything like everyone would just leave her. 15 years of pushing away the anger because it was expected of her, 15 years of trying to prove to The Council that she wasn’t a monster. She lets it out. She’s tired of fighting, tired of trying to prove herself worthy. If all they saw in her was a monster, then she’d play her part, she would be the monster that they all wanted her to be. The world around her shakes and the sound of metal squeaking fills her ears as she snaps her eyes open. Her once blue eyes which had hope, now burn a golden yellow as she lets the anger take over her. Not even the thought of Jade could put out the flames of the anger.

It is obvious that they knew each other previously, and were possibly friends before something happened. This one shot backstory gives a little better idea what that might have been. I don't own these characters, and there is rust on my sword.

When Jade and the gang finally catch up to the Princess on the road, Kit must ride with Jade on horseback for the rest of the day’s journey, causing sexual tensions to mount and both friends start to realize their feelings for each other.

Histoire donc centrée sur leur queer romance.
Résumé.
A 25 ans, Kit perd l'amour de sa vie suite à une longue maladie. Anéantie et perdue dans sa vie, elle décide de tout quitter et part à The Brightly Stars island, une île exotique située dans les Caraïbes, afin de refaire sa vie. Elle décide de se consacrer entièrement à sa passion, l'écriture et rédiger enfin son roman dans le but d'oublier ce mal être, ses démons intérieurs qui l'ont déjà poussée à commettre un acte dramatique envers elle-même.
Sa rencontre avec Jade va changer sa vie.
Jade va l'aider à s'ouvrir aux autres, à s'aimer et reprendre confiance en elle.
Une belle rencontre, une belle relation.
