Summary
It starts like every other fight. Liu Qingge lands one hit to Luo Binghe's every three, both of them bruising and collecting injuries like art. It drags on until the sunlight starts to fade, until they're both breathing heavily and covered in a fine sheet of sweat.
And then Luo Binghe makes a mistake.
It's small - just a minor misstep, an unfortunate shift of balance. Against any other opponent, it wouldn't mean a thing. Wouldn't make a difference. But Liu Qingge has been watching. Liu Qingge has been waiting for Luo Binghe to make a mistake for years. He quickly changes his attack mid-step, throwing his weight against the opening Luo Binghe's mistake left, and Luo Binghe falls. Liu Qingge falls with him, of course -he compromised too much of his balance with that attack - but he makes sure to end up on top, straddling Luo Binghe and pressing the flat of Cheng Luan's blade to his neck.
Without meaning to, without thinking to stop it, Liu Qingge smiles at him, bright and genuine and triumphant.
Luo Binghe's breath catches.
"I win."

Summary
Liu Qingge was battling Luo Binghe for the custody of Shen Qingqiu’s corpse but enemies descended upon the Huan Hua Palace mid fight. They called a temporary truce. For Liu Qingge, no price is too high to pay to save his martial brother. A hostage, the proud War God of Bai Zhan surrenders his mind, body, and the last shreds of his dignity to the malevolent demon lord Zhuoyan-jun, enemy of Luo Binghe.
Will Luo Binghe ever come to his rescue as Zhuoyan-jun anticipates? After inadvertently gotten rid of the pesky fly buzzing around to get his Shizun? Unlikely.
But Luo Binghe came and again, trapped as a commodity, Liu Qingge must decide how much of his former self he's willing to sacrifice or will he regain everything that has been lost.

Really liked this!! A steady fic, good writing and plot. Akutagawa and Dazai’s relationship was a lot for me but I throughly enjoyed this nonetheless!! I also got many vampire reading recommendations out of it!

Ranpo’s voice is low when mirrors Dazai’s rapidly fading grin, “My turn.”
He leans forward and whispers into Dazai’s ear, “You’re half-blind in your right eye, can shoot with both eyes closed and are an ex-executive of the Port Mafia. What a great variety of things to know about a colleague at first glance, don’t you think?”
And just like that, he’s gone. He throws a wave behind his shoulder and calls out, “I think we’ll get along just fine, Dazai-kun. After all, we have all the time in the world to pick each other apart.”
