Until reg_ulus's provocative stream about "real gaming talent" goes viral, and suddenly James can't stop watching the infuriating (and infuriatingly attractive) variety streamer who seems determined to get under his skin.
Regulus knows exactly what he's doing with his carefully curated stream persona, all star motifs and strategic wardrobe malfunctions, complete with that damn snake tattoo that keeps drawing James's eyes. It's all fun and games until their sponsors force them to collaborate, and suddenly maintaining the rivalry becomes a lot harder than falling into something else entirely.
But in an industry where everything is content and everyone is watching, keeping anything private might be the hardest game of all.

Harrow stared at the golden eyes, her mind filling with a warm buzz and melodic hum. Her brain was a massive generator, constantly writhing and whining, but those beautiful eyes melted through like lava, reducing her to a drooling, staring moron. The glasses were replaced, and the buzzing cut off.
Harrow looked over to Cam who was pulling on her stitching, a nervous habit she supposed. “Wow,” was all she could say.
Cam cocked an eyebrow, the exposed bolt on her neck sparking a bit with the action. “See what we mean? She didn’t even look at you and you were caught by it.”
“What is she?” Harrow asked, her voice returning to its normal ice.
Cam seemed to pause at that. “Gideon is just, incredibly powerful.”

Harrowhark is a vampire, but that’s never been an issue before. Until a group of humans attacked her. Now her parents have decided being in the general public isn’t safe, and they’re sending her to a special boarding school for ghouls. Zombies, gorgons, and more inhabit the halls of Canaan High. Gideon had been staring hard at the face of the fountain’s statue. She was pretty sure that it was carved in the likeness of Naberius himself, but she didn’t want to say it out loud and make it true. She shook her head and turned to Harrow. “Leaving me to live out eternity in your bony sock puppet of a body? Hard pass.”
Palamedes and Camilla shared a look. It was the mutual understanding of two people who had been trapped in close quarters with the bickering of Gideon Nav and Harrowhark Nonagesimus for far too long.
