Stiles sees the flyer on his very last day at Beacon Hills High School. It’s hanging, unassuming, in the hall near the front entrance along with bulletins and other flyers, advertisements, posters for free student concerts, but the fact that the word “sex” is written in a font two times larger than the rest of the page catches his attention.
It’s an advice hotline for a whole range of things, from teenage angst to how to deal with your parents telling you you’re adopted and a whole mess in the middle. Stiles thinks it’s funny, though, that they offer advice on sexuality and sex education. It makes sense on the one hand, since high school sex ed does jack shit for actual learning, but anyone who really wants to know stuff has an infinite source of knowledge right on their phone—the internet.
So it starts off as a joke.

Derek hums in agreement and Stiles snuggles closer, slipping back into an easier, sweeter sleep. Derek stays awake, though, listening to Stiles’ heartbeat and making sure the nightmares don’t comeback, because whether it’s putting bandaids on his cuts and scrapes or helping him sleep, Derek will do his best to keep Stiles safe, and anything else he can think of to make sure he deserves to keep this.

Derek says, "You reeked of me," which is unfair. Stiles only smelled because he'd gotten covered in Derek's bodily fluids trying to staunch the bleeding.

“We can’t just leave him here to die.”
“He’s an emissary, Scott.” Derek tried to make his tone empathetic, but Scott’s tendency to fight back on everything always grated on his nerves. “His pack is gone, he won’t survive more than a day or two either way.”
“Then we should stay with him.”
Derek sighed as he studied the man for a moment; he was too pale against the fur rim of his hood, almost grey from lying out in the snow, and his cloak was stained with dark dried blood around a protruding arrow shaft. It was unlikely he would even last the night. They would probably be able to carry on in the morning with little time lost, if any.
It wasn’t a horrible idea, Derek decided reluctantly. They hadn’t been able to set up a real camp for a few weeks in the open foothills, and they were all on edge from sleeping in exposed areas. A defensible place to sleep would be good for them, even if they were surrounded by death. They would be able to give the pack proper burials, at the very least.
“Fine. One night,” Derek relented, already moving away to check on Isaac. “He’s your responsibility.”

“My brother thinks you’re hot!” she yells, and Derek twists a hand in the back of her shirt and yanks her backwards, causing her to hit her head on the top of the door and curse at him, slapping him in the arms.

“Are you okay? Did something happen?” Derek asked, his grip on the phone tightening.
Stiles gave a humorless laugh. “You could say that…” she muttered unhappily, more to herself than him. Taking a breath, she asked in a voice that was entirely too small for her boisterous personality, “You really don’t remember anything?”
“Why? What should I be remembering?” He racked his brain for clues. He remembered finding it odd that his clothes had smelled so much like her when he woke, but he figured she must have been trying to haul him up or turn him over after he collapsed. “Stiles? What’s wrong?” he pressed determinedly.
She let out a groan of exasperation before finally saying, wearily and with a confusing tone of resignation, “Just… forget it. It’s fine, Der. Don’t worry about it. Go back to trying to get your head on straight, okay? I’ll just… I’ll talk to you later.”
The call disconnected, and Derek stared down at the phone with a growing feeling of unease.
Why did he get the feeling he was missing something huge?
