Summary
The augmented human turned on his heel and left, trailed by a drone. I continued to stand around for a bit, facing but not really looking at a large, leafy shrub that the humans had placed in this area for aesthetic purposes.
Aesthetics mattered to humans. They mattered to me, too, I guess. There were unquestionably things that I liked the appearance of: my favorite jacket, the glitter of lights across the hull of a nice ship, the color of the tiles I’d picked out for my shower. Even some of Ratthi’s handmade jewelry held visual appeal—don’t tell him I said that. But a sentient entity? A SecUnit?
Me?
What a bizarre concept.
In which Murderbot notices a disturbing trend.

Summary
Two-Four didn’t ask how he knew. He didn’t have time to, because the Thirteenth Brother was already moving toward the back door of the building, as casually as if he’d been invited there for afternoon tea.
“Wait! Sir!” Two-Four hissed, jogging to catch up with him. “Shouldn’t we call for backup?”
What happened when the Empire’s most long-suffering clone met its most enigmatic Inquisitor? CC-2224 didn’t want to find out. But, as usual, nobody asked him.

Summary
Doumeki was not prone to jealousy.
Which was, perhaps, why he found the feeling so hard to identify in himself when it did strike. That, and the fact that his subconscious had chosen the most absurd person to become jealous of—and over the most pathetic thing—in the long and arduous history of jealousy.
Doumeki goes to the supermarket with his best friend and his deceased grandfather—it’s like the beginning of a bad joke.

Summary
Cobb has learned some things, over the years. Find shade when the twin suns are at their highest. There's no such thing as an empty sarlacc pit. Never approach a bantha from behind. Legends are rarely what they seem to be.
Even if Cobb had believed all the legends he'd heard about Mandalorians, he doesn't think they could have prepared him for the one that finds his way to his town.

Summary
Deep Space Nine is home to all manner of rebellious electronics and willful computers—glitches are bound to happen, and the engineers aren't always available to fix them. Fortunately for Doctor Bashir, Chief O'Brien isn't the only person on the station who knows a thing or two about Cardassian technology...
Or, five times Garak helped Julian with a technical difficulty, and one time there was nothing to fix.

Summary
Bail Organa had a meeting so important that it had been scheduled a decade in advance—so important that he spent months planning his attendance, carefully scheduling other engagements around this vital one.
And yet, it wasn't on any calendar, agenda, or in the head of any of his assistants. He went to this meeting alone. He didn't wear his senatorial best. He took three ships to get to its location, booking passage under an assumed name. He told no one when he left, and would tell no one upon his return.
It was time to check on two of the future rebellion's most valuable assets.

Summary
Between the bloody, gut-wrenching mash-up of memories bombarding Cody as he slept, he dreamed that he was visited by the ethereal, looming form of General Kenobi.
It wasn't the same General Kenobi that he remembered, though. His wavy auburn hair was longer than it had ever gotten in life, long enough to tie into a tail, and streaked with swathes of gray at his temples. Two long strands fell forward into his face as he looked down at Cody, in his iconic 'mulling-over-a-plan-that-Cody-won't-like' pose, stroking his short beard with one hand. His face was more lined, but he didn't look old. He didn't know if General Kenobi was capable of looking old.
