Summary
Rumi was weird. She was half demon and, even though she tried to suppress that part of her as much as possible, some demonic habits got past her. Thankfully a lot of it could be hand waved as a by-product of being home schooled her whole life. Still that can really only go so far because Mira and Zoey start to notice just how odd she is. Not that they care, in fact they might even enjoy how strange she is.
Or Rumi is actually really bad at hiding some of her demon tendencies but Mira and Zoey love her anyway.

To be chosen to represent the Honmoon, their great goddess, was one of the greatest honours a young woman could be bestowed with. Every year, nine lucky women were chosen to live at the Temple in Jeju Island as they trained to fulfill their duty to the Honmoon and protect the world against demons.
For Mira, this would finally demonstrate to her family that she really was a woman, and she was determined to have them accept her.
For Zoey, she finally felt she could belong somewhere, be part of something bigger than herself.
