Summary
The free androids of Detroit start building their brand-new future, but peace is only relative in the troubled times that follow a revolution. One of the major figureheads of the revolution and finally a deviant, Connor now has to learn how to handle free will. The AI that both guided and punished him is gone, but at a price, and he struggles with his newfound freedom when guilt and fear are the crumbling foundations of his new life.
They say they want him there with them, but Connor can't understand why. He's afraid of himself and what he's capable of, afraid that maybe these feelings don't have their place within him.
Despite all the doubts he may have, Connor finds that he desperately wants to live, because whenever he feels himself slipping and falling, they're here to catch him.

The cool Detroit winter breeze. The obnoxious light from the club’s sign. Loud music. Big brown eyes that take on all the light’s colors and make them their own. A soft smile, a breathy laugh. Hands tucked into the pockets of a long coat. Boots strolling down the sidewalk, crunching in the thin layer of snow. Three shots of vodka apiece. Soft hands with long, delicate fingers.
These are the things that Markus can remember from that night. Healing, like incense. Strengthening, like sunlight.

Summary
Nearly a year after the Deviant Demonstration, Markus, deviant leader turned android ambassador, continues to push for android rights while (unsuccessfully) attempting to balance his social and personal life. Unfortunately, attacks targeting androids and their sympathizers are leaving everyone on edge.
Meanwhile, Connor remains fearful of the return of the Amanda AI that nearly drove him to kill Markus; the repercussions of which continue to make him doubt his deviancy. To distract from his fears, he loses himself in the newest case sweeping the DPD: a disturbing pattern of suddenly homicidal androids.
After Markus is targeted by a mysterious assailant, Conner finds himself unwillingly assigned as the head of the ambassador's security detail.
Only this mission is different.
He didn't expect to find Markus so...distracting.As the investigation progresses, and new and old threats arise, deviant hunter and leader find their paths becoming as tangled as the wires inside of them. At the end of the day, their worst enemies may be closer than they think.

The Revolution is far from over, Markus knows. There are so many changes that will have to come; socially, politically, legally. What he didn't realize is that spending so much time with Connor would make some of these changes much more...personal.
Connor is lost, searching for a new mission and Markus can help. But he's beginning to think that it might not be as straightforward as all that, now.
(He might only have started feeling real emotions just last week, but all this is normal, right??)

Connor, once becoming deviant, is lost and doesn't know who he is anymore. The only way he knows how to cope is by reminding himself of who he is. Luckily, Markus is there to help him along with Hank, Connor's partner at work. Little do the three know, something even bigger is brewing in the background, something that will affect the lives of everyone in Detroit.
