Maybe it should have scared him, but it's not like they were real, all those sightings and stories were just made up. Plus it’s not like there’d been a sighting in years. Well except for Wei Ying, who claimed he was taken underwater by a merman. Sure he came home soaking wet with some weird markings but that didn’t mean it was true.

Surprisingly, Vilkas was the first to start wearing the amulet. Farkas followed soon after. After a few weeks of wearing the damned things, their proposal was more or less ignored by the object of their affections- which left the wolves' frustrations quickly becoming unignorable demands. In the recent weeks, the creatures were alarmingly more present in each brother's conscious thoughts, leaving the twins strained in their own ways.
To their beast's blood, it was simply unacceptable that the wolves hadn't yet been introduced to their chosen mate. The wolves insisted she might recognize them as hers if they were to show themselves. While camped away from the world, the instinct to come forth and greet her becomes too much to bear and Tsala finally gets a proper introduction.
