Katsuki didn’t hear the knock at his door.
Going deaf had been a new adjustment for him. He had been steadily losing his hearing for years, in high school, but his stubborn teenage self had refused to accept it.
Now, at the age of twenty-two, Katsuki was ninety-seven percent deaf. He started teaching himself Japanese sign language in secret during his second year, after the fight with All For One took that first big piece of his hearing from him; he was fluent now.
Or: Katsuki is still getting used to being deaf. After a confession, Izuku helps him get used to a couple more things.

Izuku cannot cope with the idea of dragging Katsuki down, so he pushes him away.
He isn't prepared for the way Katsuki fights back - god, does he fight.

“We tried, and it didn’t work. Please don’t be upset.” Izuku cringes as he says it. It’s so mean. Hypocritical of him, really, when he can feel the muscles of his heart tearing.
“Whatever.” Katsuki snaps, looking away. He won’t meet his eyes. “Fuck off, then.”
Izuku feels his lip twitch, and swallows. He won’t rise to it. Katsuki doesn’t know how to deal with emotions that aren’t anger; he needs to be angry, he needs a fight, to understand.
The room tilts on its axis as Katsuki ducks his head.
The world stops; because Katsuki starts to cry.

It's sort of nice. Megumi is starting to realize that maybe there's more to life than being a jujutsu sorcerer. To be young and stupid and to like someone. To really, really like someone. It's more than he deserves. And yet, with how each kiss leaves his chest warm and full to the point of bursting, it is only left more hollow each time Yuji pulls away.
Megumi wants more. More of Yuji's time and touch. More of his unfunny jokes and windshield-wiper laugh. It feels like he's sick with it. Sick with wanting. The nausea and the headaches caused by the never ending replay of every touch and every word whispered only for him. The cure and the cause are one in the same. Is he selfish? The question twists and digs between his ribs every time Yuji pulls back. Is it selfish of him to want more? To want everything?
To say it plainly: Megumi wants to fuck Yuji so bad it makes him physically ill.
After weeks of dating and no second base in sight, Megumi is starting to wonder if something is wrong with him or if Yuji is genuinely this dense. Maybe it’s time for a mature conversation about intimacy and expectations. SIKE! He’s gonna push Yuji to the absolute limit and there’s no possible way it could go wrong.
