“Is that… is that Edward?” Roy couldn’t keep the disbelief from his voice. How could he? He’d ridden in the ambulance with Edward a handful of times before, but the sight of the body bag was so foreign and ridiculous, it didn’t even register in his mind….

Like tonight, a year ago, Ed was visited by his dead mother.
The dream has always been the accident. Of Edward, strapped to a seatbelt in the passenger seat of their vehicle, and, over and over, being unable to dredge himself out. Neither Trisha nor Al responded to his thrashing, screaming, pleading. The truck always hit.
A year ago, it was different.
Edward stood on the outside, in the grass on the corner of the intersection. The sky was bright blue, clouds corralled around the circle of deadly space made up by two crossing roads. He watched his mother inch into the clearing, watched his own face trapped in the cherubic naivety of childhood, enraptured by the front window. Watched him spot the barreling truck, and, for the first time, witnessed the accident from the exterior.

Todoroki Shouto has a problem.
It’s not something he has ever had trouble admitting. His dad training him from the age of five until he puked blood was a problem. Him having to fight during the last war with his own brother who was presumably dead and was now a villain was a problem. Coming into school and finding his desk covered in graffiti and his textbooks torn to pieces was a problem.
Todoroki Shouto does not have any issues with admitting that he has a problem.
It’s asking for help that he has trouble with.

Aizawa ripped another piece of fabric away and pressed it against the wound, watching as it too quickly grew wet with blood. It didn’t help and Todoroki was quickly bleeding out and now the puddle under him was spreading like a black hole, dark and consuming as if it would swallow him whole.
“Sensei, fucking do something,” Bakugou pleaded from his side, voice cracking and hands bathed in blood.
When his student’s life is on the line, Aizawa desperately does anything he can to get him out alive.

Her flailing arms are only rapidly moving entities in his vision, and he only starts feeling again when he feels a deep, cold, sizzle on his face. His mother's ice. His throat aches, only now recognizing that he's been screaming since the moment his mother turned to him with that silver kettle.
Shouto's mother leaves. Part of him leaves with her.
