Summary
It is a challenge, but Kai makes it without too much trouble. He hates to do it, but Kai takes a hard look at himself in the mirror. Said mirror is already cracked and Kai has never bothered to clean it, so with Kai’s added instability, and his clouded vision – it is awfully hard to make out any concrete details of his own face.
His initial feeling is disgust. Despite the blurriness – he looks terrible, more terrible than he usually does. He used to care a lot more, before… Well, before. But Kai is pretty sure his revulsion has more to do with the fact that he hates what he sees, and less to do with the alcohol still remaining in his bloodstream.

Summary
When his optics first come online, B-127 first sees the sky. The Well surges with power only feet from him, giving him a fond farewell even as his memory of crawling from it fades only moments after. His protoform is new and small, his body whirs with clicks and hissing as parts fall into place and his spark begins to glow all on its own, no longer sustained by Primus’ crafting hand.
It will grow, with time, his plating still a shining, unburdened silver. Glistening with its lack of abrasions and experience. Efficiency programs slot into place, and his processor works to teach him what little it already knows. His T-cog spins in his side, inactive now as New Sparks usually are, but it will burst with Energon and life soon enough. In the backlog of his thinking, B-1 can already sense the way the wind will whip around him, struggling to keep up.

Or; B-127 is a new spark, born in the midst of war. He survives, and eventually joins the Autobots. But what has to happen to get him there? TFP universe, with some tweaks. Typically updates every other Tuesday. (Loosely) -

Summary
“I’m not ready.” Knuckles utters, quiet, but still audible.
She’s almost desperate. “My sweet guardian, you and I both know the signs.” Something close to sympathy creeps into her features, and she softens. She gestures to the pond.
“You know that you are.”Swallowing, Knuckles accepts defeat, finally cursing himself and doing what he’s been avoiding this entire time. He follows where she’s pointing.
He looks at his reflection.

She swallows, crouching down to fiddle with a small crowd of unpicked dandelions. “And remind me why we are preparing for an eclipse that is not coming?”
At the question, Knuckles pauses, if only for a moment. His fingers close around a clump of clover, which he wrenches out of the ground a tad harder than necessary. “… It did come, I just…” Taking a deep breath, Knuckles shakes his head, a small, tired smile blooming. “I missed it.” He supplies, as if it were so simple.

Then, stillness. Knuckles’ body stops moving abruptly, and lays there for a minute or two before there are any more signs of life. Everyone holds their breath.
His hands twitch, then his arms, and then his shoulders. They can’t see his face, but it is clear Knuckles is awake again.
“Knuckles!” Cries Vector, the first to get up the nerve.
He doesn’t move, or rather, he doesn’t immediately turn around to face them. His movements are slow and deliberate.
“You ok, buddy?!” Sonic asks, trying not to sound as afraid as he is.
No response.
Then, Knuckles stands. No hesitation, no limp, nothing.
Oh no.

“Mother loved you, too,” Zuko says, and even he knows how weak that sounds. Azula throws her head back and laughs, but it comes out all wrong and hoarse and raw as though she’s strained her throat.
“Oh, Zuzu.” Azula walks forward, abruptly throwing her hands up against the bars of the cell. Zuko refuses to flinch as she leans forward. “I don’t know how you’ve survived this long if you still believe that.”

Summary
Sanji knew freedom once in his life.
It had been delicious, had tasted so sweet, but it was never meant to last before it was taken away from him by his family. Now, Sanji realized he was never going to be free. The taste of freedom soured in his mind and soul, never to be thought of again.
But a hand was reaching out to him, attached to a smile, a straw hat and a promise of being free.
He could only hope he had the strength to take the hand. The courage to taste freedom again.
