Summary
"Buck!" Theo sobbed and Buck barely had any time to turn toward the sound before he had an arm full of Theo.
Buck had wrapped his arms around the four year old before he had even realized what happened. He held Theo close to his chest and pressed a fierce kiss to his hair.
"Hey, Theo. Hey, baby, I'm here. I've got you," he soothed as Theo buried his tears in Buck's shoulder.
"Buck," Theo muttered weakly as he clung to Buck's neck, fingers strangling the collar of his LAFD shirt.
Or, Theo is struggling with the loss of his parents and freaks out while Buck is at work. He comes to the firehouse and Buck comforts him.

Eddie opens his mouth.
I’ve spent a lot of my life checking boxes—
Buck reaches up and turns his hat around.
Backwards.
It’s nothing. It’s a casual, thoughtless adjustment, the brim swinging to the back, the front panel disappearing. The words disappear with it. And suddenly Buck is looking at him with his whole face open, chin slightly dipped, curls loose without the brim to redirect them, and the hat means something different backwards, it means something about the specific tilt of his jaw and the blue of his eyes, the reddish pink hue of his birthmark and the fact that he is looking at Eddie the way he always looks at Eddie, like Eddie is something he has decided to pay attention to above all other available options.
Eddie’s speech leaves his body entirely.
Fuck it.
He surges forward, cradles Buck’s face with both hands and kisses him.

Eddie tries to confesses his love to Buck, but a backwards hat leads to him getting fucked stupid instead, and love confessions

Buck was frozen, looking at Eddie from underneath his lashes, dark eyes filled with apprehension. “Okay,” Buck said hesitantly. He braced himself for Eddie’s question, could see in his eyes that he had figured it out.
“Are you a vampire?”
The silence following Eddie’s question was deafening. Eddie felt like every muscle in his body was taut, he was completely still as he waited for Buck’s response.
Buck tried to chuckle but it clearly sounded fake. “What? No. Of course not. Vampires aren’t real, Eds.”
Eddie sighed. “Buck, you promised me you would tell me the truth.”
Or, the one where Buck is a vampire, Eddie offers himself up as his personal blood bag, and then they fuck nasty. Oh, and there's feelings involved.
