Before Eddie could respond the bell over the door jingled.
And the entire place seemed to hold its breath.
He didn’t even need to turn around the sound of frantic camera shutters outside muffled by the door said enough.
But when he did turn, his brain short circuited.
Buck Buckley walked in like a movie scene hoodie up, cap low with his eyes bright even under the dim lights.
The crowd went quiet in that surreal way that only happened when someone too famous entered a room not built for them.
He shut the door quickly while pressing his back against it as a few paparazzi flashes went off through the glass.
“Jesus”
he muttered while exhaling.
“They’re like vultures”
Eddie blinked, and speechless for half a second before his body moved on instinct.
“Hey, uh here”
He got up whole crossing the room.
“There’s a side door in the back, if you wanna-“
Buck looked up and that was it.
