For the first time, Galinda sat down in the room, on the armchair across from Elphaba’s desk. She perched on the very edge of it with her legs primly crossed at the ankles, as if she was preparing to run. Galinda’s sunburn bloomed a soft pink on the high arc of her cheekbones, the bridge of her nose… which was dotted with freckles, as Elphaba would have noticed if she’d cared to look more closely. Galinda’s summer dress hung loosely over her legs.
With great effort, Elphaba averted her gaze.--

Galinda sighed and slammed her book shut. She wanted to think about Fiyero, damn it. She’d even sat down with her History textbook after dinner to do so, enchanted by the mental image of herself daydreaming about her literal prince with her chin on her hand and hearts drawn all over the page.
Instead, her mind kept meandering back to her roommate, of all people. Galinda found it hard to concentrate on Fiyero when she despised Elphaba so much.

The only interesting thing Elphaba finds amongst the rest of the conspiracy board is a photo of a sheet-covered cadaver with nothing but their bare feet visible. Rather than any information identifying the body, Glinda has written a note over the photo that reads in a frenetic scribble NO SHOES WHY?????? and Elphaba thinks yes, Glinda Upland of the Upper Uplands does seem like the type to fashion-shame a corpse.
