Alt character interpretation where Howard was not abusive he just didn't know how to relate to his son and also didn't want him to make the mistakes he did. Plus he always thought he had more time so let himself push it off when he didn't want to talk.
Also Howard's love of Steve was born out of how Steve seemed to like him and never emotionally attacked Howard unlike many others so he held onto that since surely if Captain America liked me there was a spark of goodness. Also he felt Steve was a better role model for Tony than he was hence his tales. -

Summary
Marvel says its civil war is what happens when superheroes are in the real world. I don’t know what world they’re in, because that’s not what happens in the real world; this is.
This was originally supposed to be crack and then it turned into crack taken seriously. I’m not sure what it is now, other than a way for me to work out my frustration with the whole civil war thing, as well as my frustration with Age of Ultron and all the Tony-bashing I’ve been seeing. But I couldn’t resist a hopeful ending, which I fear we won’t get from CA: CW.

Written Pre-Civil War so uses comic canon for the basic but the civil war is framed as a legal drama rather than a battle.
Steve comparing it to Nazi's where as most of the law is closer to professional registration for the most part. Which even he has to admit seems reasonable when you compare it to nurses, engineers or police also requiring registration. There are force registration parts but Tony states he is against those parts and is working to get that part struck while keeping the part focused on superheroes.
The fact that Steve comes round to his thinking and admit he is wrong is nice as is using how he treated Tony in AoU for why Tony didn't try earlier. He has evidence Steve won't listen to something against his biases. -

Some redemption but mostly call outs for the rogues. lots of drama as the team keeps messing up and is slowly captured over multiple fights. No forgiveness so them with them punished for the crimes they did commit. -

Interesting variation on the idea of HP being adopted by a supernatural entity. The fact the goddesses can only speak to her is an interest twist on the idea.
Has a nice scene where a muggle caseworker inspects Hogwarts. Does point out the various problems but admits that magic renders many of them less of a problem than at a muggle school. -

Summary
Tony can't get himself back from Siberia, and it takes the night for him to be rescued. While waiting to see if he'll die of hypothermia, he realises something for the first time. It wasn't that he failed because he hadn't tried hard enough. He had failed because he had tried too hard. His so-called team-mates had formed the habit of blaming Tony for everything because he had let them. He had shouldered the blame, let them attack him without consequence, and cleaned up after their mess, all so they could continue to feel self-righteous in peace. But it wasn't just him they were attacking, and saving the world didn't give them a free pass to be the very bullies that Steve claimed to fight against.
Tony woke up in hospital, still sustained by the relief of his realisation. Things sucked, but they would get better. He was Tony Stark, and no challenge was too much for him. It was odd how much easier it was to plot when he actually did intend ways to manipulate the ex-Avengers into falling in line. And since that was what they seemed convinced he was doing all along, they didn't deserve a warning that it would now be true.

Tony realises Steve was never a friend and so treats him as such. he still needs him plus his public approval is still high despite events. So he sets out to manipulate things to make him seem like he is on their side while letting others uncover the truth that paints the rogues in unflattering light. By the time things are over Steve seems like an abusive partner towards Tony and Tony's own protests are dismissed or interpreted in a negative light.
Not a fix-it since there are plenty of drama and problems but still focused on realistic consequences, politics, and public opinion.
Has some interesting ideas for the rogues history and reasons for what they did. For examples Steve's distaste for pre-emptive preparations for war stem from his disapproval of the USA aggressive wars post WW2 and he believes they result from having a large peacetime military. -

When Thor threw Loki headfirst into that cliff, he had no idea he would break the mind control of the sceptre and Thanos' minions.
This changes everything.
With Loki not wanting the invasion, they can find the Tesseract and stop the portal quicker than in the film. How will this change things in the immediate future?
And with the information Loki can provide, there is no one to tell Tony he is paranoid when the possibility of a second invasion comes up. With S.H.I.E.L.D. ignored and the UN approached, there is little Fury can do to gain control of the situation.One-shot (for now... yeah, I know I say that a lot!)

Loki is freed from his mind control and eventually convinces Thor and the avengers. He tells them about his plans and Tony stops the portal from being opened. Then realising Shield is trying to cover things up and trying to manipulate him he instead brings them to the UN to inform them of the threat and get Loki cleared. They listen and learn some disturbing things about Asgard during to Loki's comments.
Ends with the pair going back to Asgard but with room to envision further developments through the author seemly unlikely to do so. -

It becomes increasingly AU as canon divergence leads down other paths.
(I am not kidding about the violence, but no good guys were hurt in the making of this fic.)
*I just noticed that the tag wranglers have synned 'Team Tony' with 'Civil War Team Iron Man' so this story will erroneously show up in a search for CW fic. I deliberately used Team Tony to avoid misleading people! I HOPE to extend this to Civil War, but I can't be sure it will happen. The canon divergence may make CW impossible in this verse.*

Yandere Pepper who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect and keep Tony happy even kill. Her only objection to murder is the difficulty in covering it up both from the public but also Tony since it would make him unhappy.
Ironically despite her dubious morals things are actually going better than canon due to her proactive approach to threats to Tony eliminating a lot of problems or co-opting them -

An immortal former queen has been following the accords with interest and has no intention of allowing the rogues to upset one of the best chances people like her have of public acceptance.
Does not need any understanding of Yu-Gi-Oh to follow since things of relevant are explained during the story and the canon events occured off screen.
The OC is extremely competent but in generally explainable ways and she still needs to convince others to help her. She's just got lots of experiment to draw upon.
