Luther doesn't know how to deal with a death like that, so when he catches Ethan's face on a random piece of CCTV footage, Luther's first thought is he might not be getting enough sleep. His second thought is that someone is using a mask of Ethan's face. He never goes to that third thought because no way in hell could it possibly be him.
