Summary
Mai doesn't have a soulmark (plenty of people don't), and Zuko's soulmark is actually a sole-mark, in that it's hidden on the bottom of his foot, so most people aren't aware he has one. Mai only finds it on their wedding night, which is the first she's even hearing about it—and she's not best pleased about that. But Zuko explains that he knows who it is, and she's not interested in him that way, and she's really not interested in being the queen of anything, so really it didn't matter enough to tell Mai before.
"I'm not telling you her name," he says flatly, "you'll be weird about it, and she might even figure it out from that."
"Fine," says Mai, and then, "wait. You mean she doesn't know?!"
"Absolutely not," says Zuko as fervently as an eighteen-year-old can.

Kono pauses, her hands stilling on the rifle parts she’s re-packing into the carrying case. “We do?” She frowns, obviously trying to identify the person Chin is talking about. “We’re using Kamekona for the sting, brah, we can’t use him for babysitting too.”
“Oh my god.” Danny covers his eyes at the admittedly implausible vision of Grace cheerfully eating shrimp while gunmen shoot up the air around her. “No. No, absolutely not, no way, I refuse—”
“A different guy,” Chin answers calmly.
Comprehension dawns like sunrise across Kono's beautiful face, followed by incredulity. “Wait... Jamie? You mean Jamie, right? For babysitting?” She pauses again, thinking it over. “...Actually, now that you mention it, that’s a pretty good idea.”

This fic does not require prior knowledge of the Witch World series. Which is a good thing, because Darcy has never read them.

They had been trapped by the Xuanwu of Slaughter for two days when Wei Wuxian paused in gathering another handful of arrows. Lan Wangji didn’t seem to notice his lack of help, but that was normal. Wei Wuxian glanced at the still-slumbering turtle, making sure it was still placid and wouldn’t be disturbed by mere words, and then said, “Do you know the Twinned Spirit Technique?”
Now it was Lan Wangji’s turn to freeze. He turned to face Wei Wuxian, face slate-blank. “That is a bad idea.”
