As time passes it becomes clearer and clearer that Quatre is remarkable and Hannibal wants, more than anything, to have a friend. Of course, Hannibal's version of friendship is a lot more possessive than Quatre may be able to understand. It's okay, though. They're a world apart. What's the worst that could happen?
An epistolary character study (in large part, let's be real I'm not exclusively writing 30 years worth of letters here) of our good murder boys. They meet when they are very young (8/9 and 13/14), and the story covers chapter by chapter roughly six month to one year increments between 1986 and 2016 where they write to one another and their lives intertwine. They are snarky and pretentious and their friendship is the only real thing either of them has to cling to. One day, they will meet, but under what circumstances? Whose design brings them together at last, 20 or 25 years later? This is a VERY slow burn, but burn it shall.

Summary
