Summary
Hugo likes Varian, a lot! But no matter how much he flirts with Varian, it simply doesn’t seem to affect the younger man. When confronting Varian about this, there seems to be something more at play when Varian hesitantly reciprocates Hugo’s feeling. Together they have to figure things out. Who said love and relationships are easy anyway? This story is set after the seven trails (so roughly two years after the start of the seven kingdoms au). Prepare for gayness, fluff, bits of adventure and some good ol’ angst/ hurt and comfort.

“Mmm-hmm. See that one?” Varian points to a cluster of four stars that don’t quite form a straight line. “Should be curved. In Corona at least,” he adds. He doesn’t ask what the constellations look like where Hugo’s from.
Hugo wouldn’t tell him anyway, he’s pretty sure.

In which a society forbids a majority of the luxuries and normalities we've come to know, such as touch and freedom to wed, Varian seeks out more. More than he's ever been permitted to, and more than he could chew. And who else to be at the receiving end of his limit-pushing than Hugo?
Hugo, a clean-cut and linear rule follower, wishes to stay in good standings with the rulers of this dystopian society...
...until Varian opens his eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. Possibilities that they could potentially become acquainted with in life, should they decide to face the risks that come with escape.
If they manage to escape, that is.
