One small change could bring the story they love crumbling down. However, it's a little difficult not to affect the story when a certain group of colorful misfits decides to adopt them, dragging them directly into the main plot.

He’s an orphan (which, yeah, isn’t exactly rare around here), his guardian barely acknowledges him, his place in the Batfam is… undefined at best, one of his brothers definitely wants him dead, and being Robin is not as fun as it sounds. The weight of Gotham is starting to feel a little heavier each night and sleep is a myth. Add schoolwork and the crushing loneliness of a 16-year-old who lives solo in a giant manor, and you’ve got a disaster cocktail with a cherry on top.
So when a weird floating boy shows up out of nowhere, Tim’s totally sure it’s just his overworked, sleep-deprived brain staging an intervention. A welfare hallucination. Happens.
...Still, it’s kinda nice not being alone for a change.or: Tim Drake is having a no-good, very bad mental health spiral—until a glowing boy phases through his wall. Literally.

Stumbling blindly through Gotham's night was not how Danny expected his evening to go -- but to be fair, Vlad injecting him with blood blossom extract was also NOT how he was expecting his evening to go. So it's a night of new surprises, and really Danny just wants to get away from his godfather as soon as possible before the man catches up to him, or before the blood blossom currently coursing through his veins and eating him raw killed him.
Vlad is a man that likes to hide in the dark, it's unfortunate for him that Danny's learned to be a thing that hides in there too. From the corner of his unfocused eye he spots a man with horns dripping in shadows, hiding in an alleyway. Danny knows a kindred spirit when he sees one.

When Giratina started ripping holes into space and time itself it didn’t just create rifts to Hisui. It also unintentionally created rifts to whole entire other words altogether. Ingo unfortunately is dragged into one of these rifts, and instead of going to Hisui he gets sent to the Sword Coast in Faerûn. Worse he’s captured and infected with a Mind Flayer tadpole of all things. Trapped in another world without memories, and infected with a deadly parasite things aren’t looking good. Still, he has hope. He has companions suffering from the same thing, and Arceus blessed him with some druid powers that have a Pokémon twist to them. He also has a goal. Go to Baldur’s Gate. If he does he may be saved, and he may be able to find a way home. However, the road to his destination is long, and Arceus has plans for him to deal with the other things that the rifts have tossed into Faerûn. Add in a growing bond with a certain pale elf, and it’s safe to say that Ingo’s adventure in Faerûn will be anything but simple

“Look, kid—” Matt paused, trying to figure out how to phrase his thoughts in a way that wouldn’t have him immediately dismissed. She was a teenager; she thought she knew everything, probably felt invincible. He remembered the feeling. “This isn’t the place for a kid your age—even with your abilities. you have a life to live, you have to go to school, you have to be with your family—”
“I don’t have a family.” She cut in quickly, toneless.
Matt tilted his head slightly to listen to her heartbeat. While it didn’t sound quite like a lie, it wasn’t the whole truth either. She was holding something back with that statement.
There was a part of him—the part of him that would have said the exact same thing at her age without hesitation—that wanted to pry.
I LOVE fics where Matt ends up training Peter Parker, and wanted to do my own spin on that with Sun Spider, adding some Disabled Superhero Solidarity to the trope! Knowledge of Sun Spider isn't necessary to read. There's very little canon to work with so there's a lot of stuff I just made up. Any needed context will be in the notes!
