Wei Ying squares his shoulders a touch and ventures, “Uh, chains and whips? That excite people?”
Wei Ying craves rough sex and simply blames any (obviously unrelated) unpleasant feelings the next morning on a hangover. Lan Zhan is two things: appalled, and willing to teach him about the art of aftercare.

Summary
The Jiang Sect is one of the oldest and most respected sects in the entire jianghu. It is renowned for its cultivation technologies, used by cultivators far and wide. It’s hard to find anyone who would say a bad word about them.
All of that changes when GusuLan receives information suggesting that the Jiangs might be using demonic cultivation in their talismans and spiritual devices. The chaos and shock that this news causes leads to an investigation, which, instead of providing answers, only raises more questions.
Lan Wangji is disgusted by the Jiang Sect’s conduct. As the heir of his own sect, he becomes involved in the investigation.
All of his composure and calm vanishes when it turns out that the main suspect—and the very person at the center of this chaos—is a boy with silver eyes, someone he never expected to see again, and certainly not under such circumstances.

So there was this jar, and it had so much peanut butter still in it, and when his fox nose scented it and didn’t catch any poison or spoilage, what was he supposed to do? Not avail himself of this gift? No. He shoved his delicate little snout right in there and got to licking, but, you know… Elegantly. Definitely not snarfing and making horrible little fox sounds and rolling around on the ground while he went ham on the jar. Sure, he had to work a little bit to get at the last of it, but anything good is worth working for, right? So finally, triumphant, no longer starving, and maybe a little thirsty now from eating half a cup of peanut butter in about two minutes, he’d tried to remove his head from the jar.

Or: Wei Ying gets stuck. Lan Zhan helps.

Chapter 2: Wei Ying is coming back into his apartment after work, talking to his boyfriend on the phone. Someone is watching him.
Chapter 3: His boyfriend really likes spicy food, sometimes that is an issue for Lan Zhan.
Chapter 4: Wei Ying’s got a busy day at work ahead of him. Thankfully his boyfriend is doing his pharmacy school rotations upstairs. It makes the work slightly more bearable.
Chapter 5: Wei Ying goes somewhere else, like, in his head. Lan Zhan is the beacon guiding him back. (The Ambulance Chapter)
Chapter 6: Wei Ying and his boyfriend stumble home drunkenly from the bar, and they play a little game.
Chapter 7: Wei Ying learns just how much Lan Zhan masked in high school.
Chapter 8: Lan Zhan takes care of a sick Wei Ying, who is starting to remember curious things about his childhood.
Chapter 9: Wei Ying has recovered, but Lan Zhan is struggling with change.

“Okay. Let’s figure it out. Let’s call Wen Qing. She will-“
Wei Wuxian shakes his head. “It’s too late. I don’t want to bother her.”
“It will not be a bother. She is our family. She will want to help you.”
Acid boils in his stomach. He is so tired, and he should just agree because it is Lan Zhan, and Lan Zhan has only ever had his best interests at heart. Lan Zhan is thinking rationally and logically, and if their positions were reversed Wei Wuxian would not hesitate to dial Wen Qing’s number and have her fix the problem.
Yet he feels his mouth form the words, “Lan Zhan…”
He feels Lan Zhan’s fingers - blissfully cold like the northern wind - hook underneath his hot chin, and has their gazes meet. “Let us help, Wei Ying. Let me help.”
aka: wei wuxian has a perforated appendix but loves lan wangji too much to bother him about it.

Wèi Yīng makes the very not clever decision to visit the Cold Springs on a chilly Gūsū afternoon, knowing he has a weak Core and that the body of which he resides in is not as durable as he likes to believe.
The consequences of his actions catch up with him fast.
Lán Wàngjī and Wèi Yīng both do not have a good time when Wèi Yīng wakes up in the throes of a rather brutal sickness; fevered, coughing, mildly delirious and struggling to breathe.
Cue a super sweet, so obviously in love Lán Wàngjī having to nurse his clingy, equally as in love, dumbass of a husband back to health. Along with visits from their sunshine child, who is quite literally perfect and is definitely worried for his Ā-diē's wellbeing, and Lán Xīchén, who is willing to do anything for his little brother and brother-in-law.

Wei Ying tried to hold back his laughter but he could not help but laugh a little. Even if some villagers were illiterate, they were not dense. Who convinced them of this custom?
Alternatively,

Hanguang-jun’s hand is big and warm, it dwarfs Wei Wuxian’s skinny wrist in its hold. Its grip is tight enough that Wei Wuxian knows it’ll leave a mark, but it loosens slightly once Hanguang-jun sits behind him. His posture is perfect—his back straight, his shoulders held back primly. He easily towers over Wei Wuxian’s smaller figure.
“Wei Ying doesn't know how to prepare his ink,” Hanguang-jun shifts his hold from Wei Wuxian’s wrist to his hand, engulfing it in its warmth, “So I shall teach him.”
