In Mobius, clothing is optional. Most Mobians don’t bother with anything other than shoes and gloves. The only reason girls tend to wear clothes more often is because they usually have shorter fur, so they typically wear one piece of clothing to protect against the cold. Unless you're interested in fashion, there’s no real reason to wear more.
Sonic’s simple coat seemed like just a style choice—another distinctive aspect of the hero of Mobius.
But there’s more to Sonic’s coat than meets the eye.

Nicole and Jecka are not a good match.
They enable their worst habits, hurt everyone around them, and can’t go a month without blowing up at each other. Their communication is terrible, their coping skills minimal, and their ‘solutions’ never actually fix or address anything close to the problem.
They are, by any and all definitions, extremely toxic.
But, really, none of that matters, because they’re gonna make it work no matter who or what they need to sacrifice to get there in the end. They’re not worth the effort? Says who? Not really for anybody else to decide, now is it?
Being alone is bad enough.
Being alone without the one person who really gets you, for better or mostly worse?

Ema's met a lot of strange characters while studying abroad. Some, like the occasional Prosecutor Edgeworth off doing something in the area, are familiar. Others, like this strange redheaded girl noisily slurping down a milkshake, are very much not.
That being said. This girl is going to go far, someday—Ema can tell. She just needs some encouragement and some actually supportive adults, neither of which she apparently has at the moment.
