Almost, Megumi wonders, as if he knows them.

“Satoru?” The word rings, fuzzy in his ears as it whines like tinnitus, familiar and heart stopping.
‘I’m dead.’ He can’t even hear his own thoughts over the loudness of the world, staggering where he stands, eyes still fixated on the sky, on the sun. ‘I’m dead, I died, I felt my heart stop, this can’t be, it can’t-’
“Hey,” it comes again, a little more urgent than before, a little closer, another hammer to his ears and all the noise shrieking behind his eyes. He recoils hard enough to go stumbling as a hand reaches for him, covered in flesh rather than empty bone, tan and recognizable. Unbelievable.
There’s something wet trickling from his nose. Bile stings on the back of his tongue. The words dissolve into the rest of the white noise as he stares up at the blue of the sky, and tries to remember if he’d ever had a hallucination as bright as this.
‘I have to be dead,’ he thinks. Somehow, he isn’t.
Or: Gojo Satoru goes back in time. He makes a couple of changes for the better.

Satoru Gojo was an insufferable teenager. No one from the jujutsu world would have ever said so out loud, but everyone knew it to be true. This was the reputation that had preceded him when he first stepped into Jujutsu High.
Not that Gojo necessarily cared about this reputation or that he particularly knew about it either. Coincidentally, the very thing that made him so insufferable, also completely sheltered him from knowing about the whispers being spoken about him across the world.
Because, you see, Gojo Satoru was, to put it simply, a rich, spoiled, asshole. And Suguru Geto wanted nothing to do with him.

Satoru laughed, ginning at the gesture, ever grateful for the Yuji’s thoughtfulness. “Sounds good to me. Let me re-tie your guys’ shoes and we’ll head out of here.”
As he was finishing up Yuji’s laces, the new arrivals started to make their way into the park. When Satoru looked up, he was met with the most striking set of lavender eyes; eyes that happened to be looking back into his own.

It was a warning. Gojo wasn’t surprised by the information, but he hadn’t expected Megumi to deliver it with a hint of a threat in his voice.
Then again, those teenagers might not be quite as powerful as he himself was, but based on everything they said, they might have even more experience against higher level opponents than him. They wouldn’t be scared off by someone more powerful.
Gojo thought that might be a nice change.

After the events in Shibuya, Itadori Yuji is ready to give up. The jujutsu world has other ideas for him though. After his classmates find him and convince him to join in on their plans to save the world, Yuji’s just glad to be useful. Of course, these plans quickly fall apart when Yuji and Megumi fall through a wormhole in time, leaving them on the front step of a teenage Gojo Satoru and stuck in the past.
Getting back to their future isn’t as easy as falling into the past though, so what happens when two traumatized teenagers decide to make some changes?

The vivid clarity of the world around himself, draped in a dark cloak of night that his enhanced eyes saw through as if it were but a thin sheet; the crisp autumn air tickling the inside of his nostrils with such saturation that it almost felt like he could taste the coming winter on the tip of his tongue. The breeze that came from this altitude tickled his bare skin, and despite its ineffectual chill against his strengthened flesh, goosebumps climbed up his neck from the tactile sensitivity he bore against its breath.
Everything felt so real, realer and fresher than it'd ever been. If that made sense, which it probably didn’t.
His senses then were just so alive that he didn’t think he could recall a time he’d ever been so… aware, of everything.
Toji fucking Fushiguro. Who would've guessed. In the middle of Shibuya too, like, really?

Instead, he and Nobara accept a job from Gojo to offer security -- and companionship -- to Megumi. When things become more and more dangerous, can Yuuji still refuse to become a bloodhound if he wants to protect the ones he cares about?
