He’s smiling like a fool when he balances the brim-full shochu cup right on the flat of Tobirama’s bare stomach, trying not to laugh as he lifts his hand up and away slowly. It tilts - precarious for a moment on a narrow base - and slowly settles with Tobirama’s breath.
“You’re trapped,” Madara informs him, still grinning wide enough that he almost spills his own sip of shochu from the corner of his mouth. He sits back at leisure, back resting against one of the smooth wooden posts and surveys the man laid out before him. “At my mercy.”
Tobirama makes that stifled, puffing noise that stands for laughter in his own private language.
Or: one night in an unexpectedly pleasurable marriage.

He flicked his wrist in a circular motion as a large glob of water coalesced above his hand before elongating and freezing, looking like basic kanzashi hair sticks. With practiced ease, he gathered up a majority of his hair and twisted it into a bun, sticking the ice kanzashi in to keep it in place. His reflections stared back at him with a high bun at the back with two clumps of long strands framing the sides, his bangs covering his forehead.
"You look a little like a girl, Ototo," Hashirama commented as he appeared behind his younger brother.
Daichi, still staring at his reflection, felt something click in his mind from that comment. "I guess I do," he mumbled. It was a thought to consider.

Though he can get pretty feisty and argumentative sometimes, Tobirama isn't one to fight. Not really.
His default response is to back down and submit; to follow orders. He is the perfect soldier in that sense and it worries Madara sometimes. It is not to say that Tobirama is meek, but at the same time he is clearly scared of people – of their presence and their touch, but most of all their anger.
This type of fear doesn't come out of nowhere. It is something learnt, often at a terrible cost.
