What Adam wants is something easy, something casual, which is why Ronan might be the worst choice for him at all, but also, the best.

"Blue was laying down with her head rested in Gansey's lap as her feet brushed Adams thigh in a way that made Ronan recall why he had hated her so much to begin with. She was like an oblivius bee queen that attracted the worship of all the males around her. Ronan was very happy to be immune to her but that didn't mean he wasn't sad to see the rest of his species entranced. When he looked at her purple-painted nails brushing against Adam, he could feel it beginning, like a flame making its first move, fueled by the alcohol rushing through his blood."
Adam has invited the gang over to the Barns for a party. Blue gets very drunk, Gansey gets very Gansey, Ronan gets very jealous, Henry is there and Adam doesn't get what's going on at all.

Richie can’t keep a secret.
It’s big. It must be. Something big enough that he’s keeping it from Stan. Stan is a bit annoyed by the secrecy of it all. Richie is a blabbermouth, but the one time Stan is actually curious, the boy does not speak on it. Not even to him—his best friend.
Stan has a few guesses. A suspicion he can’t voice out loud. An idea of what could be happening with Richie. But if he’s wrong—it’s a type of hurt Richie won’t be able to come back from because it came from Stan.
Richie has a crush.

“A Valentine’s dance?” Eddie squeaks at him, grinding his rolly suitcase to a halt.
Sure enough, a loopy red cursive “after-auction Valentine’s Day dance” accompanies the ridiculous imagery.
Richie wants to laugh - or maybe cry - it’s hard to tell the difference with Eddie staring at him like he personally assigned the theme and bought the tacky heart-shaped balloons to pile into the lobby.
“I didn’t… know,” is all Richie can come up with.

Through the office rumor mill Richie learns that Eddie has a mortgage on a house he doesn't live in, a frequently used membership in the gym on the fourth floor, and an ongoing divorce that keeps him tightly glued to his cell phone, constantly whispering, "We said we'd only talk via the mediator. No, Myra, only via the mediator," through gritted teeth, pacing in his office whenever Richie happens to pass by after his lunch break.
Richie has a Playstation 3 that only works when leaned slightly to the side, propped up with a broken mug he made taking a drunken pottery class with Bev. So they're on slightly different life paths.
