    Summary

He warned them. Repeatedly. Kakashi didn’t want a genin team. Kakashi had no idea of what to do with a genin team. He was self-aware enough to know he wasn’t quite right in the head. He should not be trusted with a bunch of children.

But did the Sandaime hear him? No, because the Sandaime wasn’t Minato-sensei and the old man never listened to him. And he went ahead with the brilliant idea of saddling him with his dead sensei’s son, Itachi’s little brother, and a kunoichi who was so much a cannon fodder that she had a literal target on her bright red dress.

He would not be blamed for the shitshow that was about to start.

    OR.

Kakashi only knows how to teach three things: survival, assassination, and pretending to be normal. Good thing that's exactly what his cute little genins need to learn. And if they also learned how to be a family in the process, well, that's just a bonus.

    Summary

Dividing people into groups based on different facets of their personalities was never going to be accurate or healthy. Hermione knew that.

So, defining any one person based on these traits was illogical, and relying on such information would prove faulty.

Despite this, there was one fact that was universally acknowledged throughout Hogwarts History by any who paid attention:

    Slytherins were attracted to power.

    It had started so unremarkably.

While walking down a Hogwarts Hallway in her fourth year, Hermione deftly sidestepped the curious thrall of one of the Veela students from Beauxbatons.

Hours later, Hermione Granger stared up at the ceiling of her four-poster bed. With tears of desperation in her eyes and suffering from a throbbing that nearly shook her, she could only pray that this was a one-off.

It’s not like she was anything of interest to the Veela, she told herself. They’d find something or someone else to entertain them by morning.

    Summary

After two years of night shifts, Caylee was finally starting to get used to watching her lockscreen clock flip from 2 to 3. Generally, that would have marked the end of a great night out. For Caylee, it just meant she was about halfway through her shift. She liked being a paramedic. Loved it, even, maybe.

But still, all the love in the world couldn’t make a 7-to-7 not torturous. The sleep deprivation, combined with the kinds of calls that always seemed to get sprung on you, just sapped the energy out of her body like a vacuum. She liked to think that was why she had no friends. She worked too much to be a good friend. It wasn’t true, but Caylee liked to think that anyway. It was easier than admitting that at the end of a long day she’d be scrolling on her phone in a dark room, watching her friends down shots and dance at overpriced concerts, somehow still being able to afford in-state tuition.
