Summary
Auros Venn and Kalina Nelam don't get along. Kalina is a model padawan, who adheres strictly to the Code and who seemingly can do no wrong. And then there's Auros, who scorns the Code and acts of his own volition. Together, they butt heads and argue. Summary
Donovan Desmond is dead. Operation Strix is over sooner than everyone expected, and nobody is less prepared for it to be over than Twilight. It may have only been a few years, but he’s more at peace with his “fake” (maybe not-so-fake) family than he has been anywhere else. So, he makes a decision.
Meanwhile, Yor has been worried sick. It’s been a full five days, and Loid still isn’t back from his side-mission. No amount of assassin training could have ever prepared her to deal with her husband going missing – even if she knows that, as a spy, he can take care of himself just fine.
Damian is alone. His brother is almost graduated and his mother is nowhere to be found. His father's cousin, who he has never met, has now been thrust into the role of guardianship for the young Desmond brothers.
Nothing is ever simple. And every story seems to be a long one.

“Why would you want to marry me?” Anya pauses, her expression comical as she realizes just what that might entail. “Why would I want to marry you?”
“It takes someone who’s insufferable to know someone insufferable.” He means it as a compliment, really, but he half-expects Anya to plan his demise by pushing him off a cliff.
