Maybe it's the intrigue — of the man, of the night, of the fact that Listers considering this at all. He eyes the shoes, the beige hem of pants sticking out the bottom of the coat, the way the guy stands like he's chained in front of a firing squad. The fake moustache that is absolutely going to fall off his face if it doesn't just slowly inch its way down to his neck like a live caterpillar first.
Lister idly nods. "What's your name?"
The man thinks for a moment.
"Todhunter. Christopher Todhunter. Superior officer."
Lister nods again, not believing it for one second.
"Not cheap," He says, rocking slightly on his heels, "Half now, half later."
OR, Lister gets mistaken for a mysterious man of the night and might just take someone up on it.

Dream has the decency to look slightly abashed, as if he only just realized that he showed up, unannounced, in his friend’s flat, with a nightmare in tow. But it’s only slightly, because he’s still Dream. “I would not ordinarily involve a human in the discipline of one of my creations,” he says, inclining his head slightly, “but you are no ordinary human, Hob Gadling.”
One day, one day, Hob will learn to keep his fool mouth shut.

Summary
“My kids call me Professor Gadd. Coworkers call me Rob.” Hob nuzzles his cheek along Dream’s shoulder, enjoying the scent of his own cologne lingering on the sweater Dream is borrowing, as well as the smell of stardust and sleep and whatever other unnameable things the Endless was made up of. Feeling wildly content, Hob hums wordlessly. They are spending this leisurely Sunday on Hob’s couch, with Dream sat comfortably between his legs, reclined against Hob’s chest. Hob gently squeezes the pale hand intertwined with his. “Your turn.”
Dream sighs and Hob can feel his snarky little eye roll even if he can’t see it. “The Greeks call me Oneiros.”
