Summary
Will returns to Hawkins before the quarantine hits, before Hawkins is sealed off from the rest of the world. He thought Hopper being alive and Jane escaping from the military would be enough to worry about. But his estranged best friend being in a coma after getting his limbs snapped by Vecna, is the cherry on top.

Mike blinked. “After William Byers?”
Nancy jerked her head, the movement resembling a nod.
Something flickered in his chest at the name. Not emotion, exactly. More like… curiosity. The town’s reclusive miracle-worker. The boy who could mend broken bones and coax rain from dry skies. The boy everyone whispered about but rarely saw.

Mike get's sent on a quest to go find the missing sorcerer Will.

Summary
"So I get what you mean. About waiting for the other shoe to drop. You’re not—you’re not the only one, is what I’m saying.”
It does not change the end-of-the-world feeling, but still something unclenches in Mike’s chest.
“Thanks.”
An embarrassed heat creeps up his neck. Again, he imagines telling Will about El. The voice in the back of his head laughs derisively.
Then, for reasons he cannot elucidate to even himself, he shoves Will in the chest.
“Um,” says Mike. His throat suddenly grows dry. He glances down at his empty glass.
“Right.” Will moves away from the sink, clearing the way for him. “No—no worries, of course. Good night, Mike.”
When he trudges upstairs, he thinks about how he spends most of his time waiting these days. He hopes the old adage about time healing wounds turns out to be true. If not, he’s just wasting it all resentfully gritting his teeth and bearing the pain for nothing.

Mike frowned at him and got back to pacing back and forth, biting his nails anxiously while his mind was probably circling around every scenario.
Will followed him with his eyes.
No.
He followed himself with his eyes.
In front of him wasn’t Mike, but Will. He himself was pacing around in panic, not Mike. Mike was sitting on Will’s bed, but Will was sitting on his bed, not Mike. Mike was pacing around the room as Will.
What the hell.
Mike and Will swapped bodies and now the two of them and the rest of the party have to figure out how to swap them back before something goes incredibly wrong.
