Summary
"Welcome to a new user experience! You have triggered this interface with the keywords, ‘Stupid game! Stupid devs! I want my f*****g money back!’ You are now bound to the character Tartaglia, the Eleventh Harbinger of the Fatui, codename: Childe! We hope you have an enjoyable user experience and we welcome you once again to Genshin Impact 2.0!”
Those are some of the first words Ajax, starving college student extraordinaire, has the misfortune of hearing upon waking up in a brave new world from what he's fairly sure is a very fatal accident involving water and a shit ton of electricity.
Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?
Forget this. Like hell Ajax is going to share that fate.
And so begins one man's journey to save himself from his awful destiny.

Summary
Will raises his eyebrows. “Is that why you came in here?” he repeats, looking back down at the blue flannel. “To ask me about the weather in Lenora?”
“Kind of,” Mike says, and then, “well no, not about the weather specifically. I just– I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh.” And Will looks a lot more surprised at this, actually, than the idea that Mike might have just wanted to come to his room to make small talk about unseasonably frigid California winters. “Okay. What about?”
“Anything.” The response is embarrassingly immediate. “Everything. I don’t know. I missed you.”
Hawkins, 1986. The world is ending, there are too many people in Mike's house, and to top it all off, he and Will have some things to talk through.

Summary
“So,” Mom says one weekend afternoon as she and Robin stare down the Sunday Times crossword, huddled together on the porch swing, “you and Steve Harrington sure have been living in each other’s pockets lately.” She puts down the pen and gives Robin a carefully-probing smile disguised as a teasing one. “Anything you wanna tell me?”
Yeah; I’m gay, Robin thinks. Her throat constricts painfully. “I—you’d know if I were dating someone,” she says instead.

Summary
Jamie can’t find it in him to react. Like, at all. He’s sort of frozen, sat on the bench, taking shallow fucking breaths that don’t even get any air into his lungs.
"What was he talking about, bruv?" Isaac says. "What’s going on with HR?"
Jamie feels like he might need to run to the toilets and be sick. This is so fucking humiliating.
The team will start making up their own stories about it if he doesn’t say something, though.

Summary
"Don’t you fucking dare call your fucking teammate stupid," Roy snaps.
"I didn’t," Jamie snaps back, almost mockingly. "Get your fucking ears checked, old man."
Sam has a feeling Roy's been waiting for a reason to strike— he’s been watching them, biding his time until Jamie slips up the slightest bit, so that he can come in and reprimand him, just for having the nerve to try and change.
"He didn’t," Sam agrees. He hesitates for a second, then, in a sudden burst of courage, tacks on: "Grandad."
