Summary
So it continues, for weeks, this push and pull Aaron does between his husband and ex-husband. Between his husband and his brother-in-law.
Aaron has breakfast with John and fucks Robert on their bed by noon. He picks out a new rug with John on a Sunday, and mid-Monday, he cradles Robert to his chest, thumbing over the new scars on Robert's body, the stories going unspoken between them. Aaron hums a reply to John's simple “I love you” and gasps those same words against Robert's lips just a half an hour later.
Again and again and again, it's a vicious cycle, until it screeches to a halt one September day.
Or: Robert's accused of a new, unthinkable crime, and Aaron holds the key to his innocence, but doesn't know if he can come forward.
