After the recent death of her mother, Kairi is not doing well, so she and Riku plan to build a raft and leave, just the two of them. But after Riku insists that Sora has to come with them, Kairi realizes that Riku cares about Sora more than they care about her and she spirals, desperate to do anything to make sure she doesn't end up alone. Of course, everyone's plans fall apart the night before they set sail.
