    Summary

A DIWS exchange gift fic for Shadow0kana, a human AU neighbors-to-lovers request with misdirected mail as a plot element.

Aziraphale wanted to get to know his neighbor. This was quite a natural thing for neighbors, he thought. However, it must be said that Aziraphale’s desire was rather more— desirous than might be normal. Because Crowley was gorgeous. Tall, slinky, and seductive in his black clothing, with fiery hair that hung around his face if it wasn’t put up. When he worked in his garden, he often wore just a pair of black athletic trousers and a thin little shirt that clung to his sweaty torso.
So, yes, Aziraphale’s desire was desirous. But Crowley was so very shy.

    Summary

Aziraphale and Crowley are settled into their happily-ever-after in their cottage by the sea. Aziraphale has plenty of room for all his books, Crowley has the garden of his dreams, and most importantly they have each other. Though their lives are not quite as calm as one would think as Aziraphale recently adopted a kitten who's mischievous side was knowingly unleashed by Crowley.

But all is well—until Puck the kitten (a strictly indoor cat) decides to escape into the night when Crowley opens the backdoor to come inside. Now Aziraphale and Crowley dash off into the midsummer night to find their wayward kitten. "Up and down, up and down, [Puck] will lead them up and down."

To help keep their spirits up, Crowley decides to continuously quote Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream

    Summary

“Best be going, then.” Crowley’d pushed his glasses up his nose and slid into his jacket. There hadn’t been a beat of hesitation, not one look of longing…actually, he hadn’t looked at Aziraphale at all. “I’ll just see myself out.”

“Crowley, don’t–” Aziraphale’d grabbed for his arm, but ended up with air. “I’ll only be gone for a smidge. Then I’ll be back, right as rain. You’ll see.”

“Yeah, ‘course you will. Don’t worry ‘bout me. I’ll turn up. Bad pennies always do.”

A year after leaving--the second time he'd left Crowley to do Heaven's bidding--Aziraphale is finally able to return. But what will he do if there's no home to return to?

    Summary

In the meantime, they’d have their familiar dance; trips to museums and galleries, promenades through the park, evenings in the shop where the world went golden and giddy at the edges.

Six thousand years, he’d gone without Crowley kissing him. He’d go another six if it meant giving Crowley the world instead.

[Aziraphale and Crowley have rekindled their old friendship, which is all they want from each other now that the world hasn't ended. Absolutely nothing more. Nothing at all.]
