A mansion inhabits the woods. Gnarly trees with long-reaching claws surround it. Haunted faces are carved into the aged bark, smiling oh so cruelly. It appears abandoned, with windows missing from their panes and scaffolding peeking through the holes in the outer walls. The grand doors are kicked in, revealing a dark abyss like a gaping mouth. A terrible beast, widening their jowls - beckoning him closer.
Kirby hesitates, weighing their options. He peers up at the dark, angry sky. Any minute now, it will unleash a heavy rainstorm - a rainstorm they are too ill-equipped to deal with.Kirby steels his nerves and enters the darkness, never looking back.

Summary
Kirby Fae AU. RosenRot in German means Rose Red. (Though in correct German, Rosenrot is an adjective more akin to the adjective roseate, but those are details) It is also a song from the German band Faun.
The pun in this word is that the rot (pronounced rod) sounds a lot like the English word rot. I keep pronouncing Rosenrot as Rozen-Rot, as in 'the rose is rotting', and I thought that is just incredibly fitting. Also, rot in Dutch and German is still rot in its simplest form, so technically, rose rot is a rotting rose (or gerotten roos in Dutch) if you stretch it a bit.
Everything in this series is part of the same universe. However, if there is a non-canon fic or ending in this series, they will be tagged as canon-divergent. Summary
Zan Partizanne doesn't remember much of her life before she was taken in by Hyness. She knew the basics. Her mother was an archaeologist. She had a brother back on some planet she'd never heard of. She couldn't even master basic telekinesis. She couldn't even quite remember anything beyond the basics about the woman who raised her after she died.
Zan Partizanne should have died on that tower.
Magolor remembers too much and too little all at once. Light makes his head ache and his ship still doesn't speak, despite the legends. He remembers all there is to know about his family. Even the mother and sister he never really knew. He couldn't remember what made him this way, though. All the digging through foggy memories just brings him headaches. All the staring at scars in the mirror just brings him anxiety.
Magolor is surprised he's still alive after all that had happened.
Both lost on other sides of an interstellar conflict, who knows why they feel so strangely connected to one another?Series
