He remembers kneeling next to a spilled decorative pot of drugs, swiping gloved fingers through the mess and saying: “What do you want to bet the mystery drug is what set her attacker off?”
Connor had been right next to him less than a moment later, strong fingers wrapping around Gavin’s wrist. Gavin’s first instinct should have been to jerk away and shout at the tin can for coming so close into his space but he’d been shocked into stillness at the sight of Connor’s tongue slipping over his bottom lip as he lifted Gavin’s gloved fingers to drag the drug across it. The pink muscle — can it be considered that with Connor being a synthetic? — retreats into Connor’s mouth and the little ring on his temple circles yellow for a few moments.
