Lucifer blinked dumbly at him. “What?”

What better way to prove herself than to take a swing at the biggest Overlord around (and one that Vox can't shut his mouth about to boot)
Alastor, though, is delighted at the notion and gladly hosts Velvette for lunch and a chance to pick her brain.

Summary
Lucifer didn't have a silver tongue before The Fall. If he had, things might have gone differently at the trial. That was one of the final parting gifts bestowed upon him by his siblings before they cast him out. There's a sort of twisted irony to it all. The snake, who gave up everything so human souls could choose their own destiny, always one over enunciated word from stripping it from them all over again.
All that to say, as a general rule, Lucifer doesn't influence Sinners. Not because he can't—far from it—but it goes against the spirit of the whole "Gift of Free Will" thing.
Of course, Alastor is the one to challenge that.

My gift for a Secret Santa gift exchange! The request was for Alastor/Angel Dust, Cute and Wholesome. And I wrote this!
This party, as most all of Charlie’s parties have been to date, was a mega drag. Seriously. Angel loved Charlie almost as much as he loved his blood sister Molly. But damn it. The princess wouldn’t know a happening party if he did a powerpoint presentation complete with sparkly rainbow bullet points outlining everything that made a party, well, a party! And walked her through it via singing! Her communication method of choice! This. This was not a party.
Although if Angel could experience the “kitten Alastor” Mimsy mentioned, then this Sinsmas night would totally be worth it.
