Summary
Hikaru had been the ideal alpha boy, brave and funny and kind, with a sense of responsibility that even the adults couldn't help but praise. In contrast, the thing that stumbled down the mountains in Hikaru's body wasn't just secretely a monster but was also not nearly secretive enough about how he was changing slowly into an omega in a village that absolutely couldn't accept that kind of wish.
No matter how desperate Yoshiki might be to keep everything from changing, there were some things he just couldn't avoid facing.

Newly resurrected, Wei Wuxian would love nothing more than to cultivate a core and go become a rogue cultivator.
Except, there's something very suspicious going on in the Imperial Palace, and while Wei Wuxian might not be able to help Lan Wangji in solving it, the unassuming and soft-spoken "Prince-Concubine Mo" sure can.

Even the animal souls nearby keep their distance. He shouldn’t be here. He doesn’t feel like he’s allowed to be here.

“F-fuck… I don’t- Ah… I don’t think I can.” Meanwhile, poor, little ‘Hikaru’ didn’t even get what was happening entirely. It made Yoshiki’s blood boil, but it was better than the alternative of having to face his emotions right now. That's why he paid for therapy once a week.
“Pretend, then.”
Or, Yoshiki wakes up in the middle of the night and has cuteness aggression against ‘Hikaru’ while feeling angry and sad and horny.

The radio blares to life when the car first starts, a too-cheerful song playing too loud, before Kurebayashi fumbles it off. After that she doesn't try to turn it back on, or start a conversation. All they have to accompany them is the motion of the car bumping along the road, the flash of streetlights throwing shadows across their faces - and Hikaru, who wants to shrivel up and die.
