“I hope you have a happy life,” he’d told her. “Find your way. I know you will.”
She tried. She really did. But there was only one road Rikku really wanted to travel on her path to happiness. Five years after the events of Memento Vivere, Rikku embarks on another journey...
This "sequel" to Memento Vivere disregards the existence of the epilogue. 14 years have passed since the original events of FFX.

‘This was a treat: good world-building, character moments, and a sense of light mystery. […] I feel lucky to have run into this.’
Dark&Peculiar‘It is so, so rare to find a plot-driven fanfiction with such good characterization and writing, and this piece hit the spot. […] This was delightful to find. Everyone is so amazingly in character! ’
Kittah‘You took a well-executed but barely fleshed out element of the original series and gave it the depth it deserved.’

Combining Inktober and Kinktober prompts to make a collection of drabbles for the month of October. Not sure if I'll be sticking to one fandom or crossing over many yet! Despite the name of the challenge, (I think) the stories in here aren't really all that lewd. I am trying to write outside of my comfort zone with this challenge, though, and nothing says leaving your comfort zone to me like Kinktober, LOL. Enjoy!

Summary
Argus' life was a largely thankless one (unless you counted the thanks of the paintings he maintained), working on keeping a thousand year old castle from falling down around the ears of students who didn't care. He had his cat, his work, his books, and a constant boil of self hatred and resentment to get him by.
And then a sixth year handed him a letter from her aunt, thanking him for acting as conservator of Hogwarts and calling him Dr. Filch. It was the first time he had been called Doctor since he started at the castle. He had little choice but to write back, after that.

this is an art nerd fic. I don't even read harry potter stuff but I absolutely have to spend time on an art history / conservation / appreciation story. I'm glad I did, this was so well written it makes you really appreciate that everyone is the "main character" of their own lives - even people like Filch.

Summary
“There are two people I can think of who might know anything,” Lavellan said. “Experts - on the Fade, on the history of elvhenan. Unfortunately,” a grimace, “one of them has vanished, and if all the resources of the Inquisition can’t find him, I doubt you can.”
“And the other?” Fenris demanded.
“Something from my own history, for once. Not an Inquisition thing. There is - a criminal,” said Lavellan. “Exiled from the clans. She was the blood mage who murdered Clan Sabrae and its Keeper. Last I heard she was living in Kirkwall. A very dangerous woman - possibly insane, actually - but I met her once at Arlathven, and if anyone could help you -”
“Merrill?”
_Hawke was left in the Fade. Fenris goes looking for him. He doesn't go alone.

Bookmarker's Notes
You know, I hated the canon romances of Fenris (and Anders for that matter) with Hawke. I spent all my time wanting to smack whoever in particular wrote Fenris' emo-pants bottle-smashing dialogue. I literally screamed "HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO A GOOD BOTTLE OF WINE" at my television screen at one point. This story does a lot to remedy my feelings of rage. Excellent plot. Excellent hook ending (will be first in line for a sequel please). Excellent Merrill. Must read if you like the Dragon Age universe.
