    With every passing day Rhaenyra was more and more aware how precarious her position as an heir was. The constant pressure from her father and his council about her marriage made things only worse. Many thought her spoiled and naive if not outright stupid, but she wasn’t any of those things and she knew that her choice of a husband would define her chances for the throne.
    The more she thought about her options the more she returned to her childish dreams of marrying her uncle, of having a true dragon at her side.
    And the more she watched her father bend to Hightower's whims the less she cared for his approval.
