Something flutters in Hans’s chest. “I'm not a fucking maid, Henry.” He struggles a little more, just for show, and Henry pins his hands above his head.

If Ghost’s being honest, he can’t even put his finger on why working with Soap makes him so anxious. The sinking feeling in his stomach and the twinges of annoyance he gets when Soap does something dangerous are foreign to him. He couldn’t explain to Price even if Price gave him a chance.

Everything changes when he's walking home one night, and he finds an exhausted, sleeping hybrid curled against his front door.

A confusing mix of emotions rises in Soap at that, muddies his thoughts like disturbed silt. His nostrils flare as he snorts, lowering his muzzle so the knight cannot see the unhappy twist of his wide mouth. His ears press back. He'll admit keeping himself fed has been a lot easier with the knight's semi-weekly delivery; he hasn't had to hunt, lure, or trick for his meals in ages. But Soap has lived for many, many long years, and knows he will not go hungry.
He's…sad, he realizes. Upset that he will no longer be able to catch a glimpse of this knight, with his golden hair and masked face. He's grown accustomed to it, dare he say looks forward to their routine, even though the knight has only ever spoken to him the last time he was here.
