Grian has a job. Not entirely voluntary, not very beloved, a bit cult-like one. Watchers aren't bad, they just... As they are. One winter, he's sent to Canada to the Churchill Falls hydroelectric station, told to deal with the local evil spirit, or whatever is messing with innocent people over there.
He hates every second of working on his new case, until he meets Scar. Well, actually, now it's much better. Until it's not.
Over time, their acquaintance becomes more and more... unusual, but they don't have time to complain, because an annoying moon cult gives too much questions and reasons to get the hell out of Canada.
And the most important thing - never in his life Scar gives a ride to a random stranger from an empty road in the middle of the forest again. And this is not a object to discussion.Series

That will never happen to Tim or Jason. He’s damn sure about that.

“What are you playing at, Lantern?” Batman’s lips are pulled into a frown, and his tone is searching, prodding– like he’s trying to see if Hal is joking or genuinely knows.
Hal raises his hands in mock surrender to show he means no harm. “Look, the code of capes, masks, and cowls: I won’t tell anyone your civilian identity.” He smiles. “I’m just letting you know that I know so that you know I’m the smartest in the League.”
“What are you talking about?” Batman applies the same tactic as earlier.
“Well, you’re the smartest, I digress– so maybe I’m the second smartest, but finding out your identity? C’mon Brucie, give me some credit, it’s pretty impressive.”
“Don’t call me that.”

Part four is a collection of oneshot what-if scenarios, each chapter spinning off from the main series at various points. The chapters can be read in any order, but most will not make sense without having read at least part one of the main series.
Parts five onward are all standalone what-if scenarios and can be read separately from the rest of the series.
