A shiver ran down Evan’s spine instantly. He pressed his face into the pillow, hoping the darkness would hide the flush he could feel rising.
“You can’t just… smile like that,” Barty mumbled, absolutely, unquestionably not awake.
Evan swallowed audibly. It was just the echo of the day, his brain insisted. People dreamt about things they saw before bed. Evan had been right there, probably, smiling at something stupid Barty said. This was simply Barty’s mind replaying it.

I keep seeing them all over tt and mentioned as side copules in other stories so it peaked my curiosity to look up stories abt em since I am quite new to this fandom.
I was looking for non-angsty none-depressing stories about this couple but couldn't quite find them as I am new to this fandom, but I am really glad I came upon this.
It's so well written even if it short and I love all the pining and descriptions. Also them saying the most romantically devastating lines so casually, like they were talking about the weather? I could never. I would be a puddle. 🫠
