In hindsight, Hinata knows he’s gotten better — so much better — than last year. He’s worked really hard on his receives, and his serves are a little more decent now. Maybe he has grown a lot more than his other teammates, considering how he truly did start from the bottom.
But just because he has improved more than anyone else, it doesn’t mean he’s on par with everyone else.
And deep down, Hinata knows it better than anyone around him.

Will blinked.
Dustin choked on his soda while El immediately started smacking his back with a worried look on her face. Lucas’ eyebrows were so high on his forehead that they looked like they would launch right off, and Max squinted so hard that there was a deep crease in the bridge of her nose.
“What?” Will finally said.
Mike huffed like he did whenever he was annoyed. “I mean, it just - you keep talking about Lucas’ arms - “
“Lucas’ arms?” Both Will and Max repeated.

After Will's confession, he kind of figured things would go back to normal, and for the most part, it has.
