Onstage, Minho was flawless. The lights washed over him in gold and white, the cameras followed him like he was the center of gravity, and his movements were sharp and clean, every line precise, every expression controlled with the kind of discipline that made it impossible for anyone watching to guess that every time he landed on his left foot, a bolt of pain shot up his leg like lightning. He hid it too well.
But Jisung saw everything. Every tiny wince, every subtle shift of weight, every moment Minho’s breath caught just a little too sharply, and each one made something in Jisung’s chest tighten with a quiet, helpless ache.

Summary
Minho’s breath leaves him in a harsh, punched out gasp. His knees buckle. He drops to one knee, hand clamped over his side, eyes squeezed shut like he’s trying to hold the pain in by sheer force of will.
Jisung’s world goes silent. He doesn’t think, doesn’t breathe, he just moves, skating faster than he had all game, faster than he even knew he could. The cold air burns his lungs, but he barely feels it. All he sees is Minho, hunched over, breath stuttering, the lines of his body wrong in a way that makes something inside Jisung crack.

Jisung stares at him for a long moment. There’s something in his eyes—confusion, maybe realization, maybe fear. His fingers start shredding the napkin in front of him, tearing it into smaller and smaller pieces. When he finally speaks, his voice is soft. Careful. “Well. That’s different.”
Minho feels something crack in his chest. “Different how?”
Jisung’s eyes meet his, and there’s an apology there that Minho doesn’t want to see. “Because we’re best friends.”
Minho watches his best friend fall for someone else.
